Week 5 Tai Wo

So sorry for the lack of substance in emails. This week is different!

This week was also great! I definitely see some improvement in the language and Im being more confident in just going for it despite my lack of understanding. Lots of smiling and nodding lol.

This week was Christmas which was great! On the 23rd we had zone conference and celebrated Christmas with a talent show, delicious meal, and movie night. It was great to have some Christmas fun with the missionaries:) My zone did a skit and dance for the zone talent show, and ngl it went hard. We danced to an epic remix of Follow the Prophet, and my housemate is a dancer so she choreographed some really cool stuff. I contributed a bit, but my hip hop dance knowledge is limited. But it was SO fun!

On Christmas day we visited a less active member in the morning and chatted and shared a message with her, and then that night we had a Christmas devotional where a bunch of members, investigators, and parents of native Hong Kong missionaries attended. I performed a rendition of my song "Can You Imagine" that I wrote a few years back. However this time it was a lil ukulele solo moment. It was so exciting to be able to sing about Christmas ON Christmas and to help people feel the spirit.

Sister Chan and I are still talking to everyone! I've gotten more and more bold in talking to people, even going out of my way or changing plans to talk to them, and I know God appreciates my effort! God ALWAYS appreciates the effort we make, despite what the outcome is. I can't control whether or not they want to learn more about Jesus Christ or join our English Conversation Group, but I can control whether or not I tell them about it!

Ima end this email with the lyrics of the song I sang on Christmas day, and my testimony that I know Christ lives! I love the story of his birth, and how humble it is. It reminds me how humble Christ was and how much love he has for us to experience all our trials, fears, and sicknesses, and suffer for all our sins. He walked such a lonely path, and because of that we NEVER have to be alone.

Can You Imagine:

Can you imagine
Christ on the hay
The Light of the World
In manger lay
Mary and Joseph
Tend to him near
Can you imagine the joyous tears

Can you imagine
Sheep in the field
The Shepard lay watch
As angels appear
Hosanna they sing
His praises on high
Can you imagine the heavens that night

Can you imagine
What it was like
The star in the sky
Showed where he lied
They gave gold and murr
He gives us his life
Can you imagine the peaceful sight
I can't imagine he bled and he died
His blood, his love, ends our darkest night
